ABOUT US
Introduction to The Black Snowflake
In a world where differences are often met with cruelty, The Black Snowflake tells the story of a young person who stands out in ways that make them a target for bullying. Yet, like a black snowflake against a winter sky, they are unique, beautiful, and strong.
This book explores the painful realities of bullying—whether physical, verbal, or emotional—while offering hope, resilience, and the power of kindness. It shows how self-acceptance and empathy can help us combat cruelty and create a more compassionate world.
The Black Snowflake is both a mirror and a guide, encouraging us all to stand up against bullying and celebrate our individuality. Because, no one should ever feel invisible or alone.

CORE VALUES

Ted Boyd, a passionate author of The Black Snowflake, a book that reflects a deeply personal journey. With a commitment to raising awareness about the harmful effects of bullying, aims to inspire empathy and kindness.
Having witnessed the impact of bullying throughout his life, and through his writing, he strives to encourage meaningful conversations and foster change. With The Black Snowflake, he hopes to empower individuals to stand up against injustice and help create a more inclusive and supportive world for everyone.
In 1972, Ted wrote a book entitled “The Black Snowflake”. The story parallels a period of life’s trials and tribulations, where a single black snowflake defeated the odds against the other snowflakes.
As the story unfolds, the Black Snowflake’s reality deepened. Unlike the white snowflakes, Black Snowflake had to perform above and beyond outstanding. Since she was the only black snowflake in Snowville, all she needed was a chance to prove herself. Black Snowflake felt alone but strong and courageous. She was often bullied, she was called dirty, and they made fun of her kinky hair. However, Black Snowflake surprised everyone as she conquered all of the obstacles she encountered with superior excellence.
During the Christmas season, my parents would visit churches and schools, telling the story about “The Black Snowflake”. The story became very popular. In fact, for several years, it was featured on the radio, television and newspaper.
Over the years, many people have found it wonderful to hear about the inspiring story of “The Black Snowflake” and how it has evolved into a musical with 24 original songs, and a platform for raising awareness about bullying. The mission of Snowflake Unlimited to educate and empower individuals who have experienced harm or intimidation is incredibly important.
